Brian Minter is a noted horticulturist and entrepreneur. His family owned the famous Minter Gardens and now owns Minter Country Gardens. He has been a gardening commentator on CBC for 35 years, contributes syndicate columns for the Vancouver Sun and Black Press newspapers and is an international speaker on gardening, tourism and business trends.

Brian is a former Chairman of the Board at BCC, UFV / UCFV, First and Two-Term Chancellor of the University of the Fraser Valley, and is a recipient of the Order of Canada, the Order of BC and the Order of Chilliwack.

Brian received an Honorary Doctorate of Technology from UCFV in 2001.

Brian will be speaking on the challenges - and promising technological solutions - of growing food for 8 billion people in the midst of climate change.
